The Stay Curious Project is a series of participatory dance workshops on improvisation and composition for mature adults over 55 years old. The workshops ran over 5 weeks in 2018 at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance by Polena Kolia and the collaborating community dance artists Rosanna Raine Cook, Naomi Welford, Rebecca Gilford και Sandra Ray.

 

Each workshop invited participants to exlore ways of creating movement material and linked improvisation and composition practices to other art forms, such as painting, African flagging, creative writing and theatre.

The workshops encouraged the creative expression of the participants, the exploration of collaborative methods in movement, the nourishment of the participants' personal movement language and the formation of a creative community.

At the end of each workshop the participants utilised the explored composition tools and created instant composition pieces, presented through the process-led performance model in the structure of creating-sharing-collective feedback around the artistic creation. This empowered the participants' artisitc articulation and critical thinking around art-making.
